Hoary Marmot

The wonderfully photogenic hoary marmot can be seen throughout British Columbia’s interior mountain ranges. Its shrill warning whistle can simply be a reaction to your presence, or an indication of golden eagles soaring overhead, or more ominously of an approaching grizzly bear. These images were taken in various places, including Jasper National Park’s Skyline Trail.
