The Real Screaming Marmot Sounds Off | Wildlife in 360 VR

Yellow-bellied marmots gather alpine vegetation, scurry in the scree, and sun themselves on a Colorado mountainside.

These marmots live in colonial burrows with up to 20 individuals, usually with a single dominant male. While yellow-bellied marmots spend about 80% of their lives in their den, approximately half of that time is spent hibernating. Upon awakening in the spring, males will begin digging a new home, to which they will attract between two and four females to reproduce. Each female may bear a litter consisting of 3-5 pups, but only half will typically survive.

Filmed in 5K 360.
