#A hamster has a a wart inside her ear. What to do?

The young couple loved this hamster very much and had texted to Toa Payoh Vets for an appointment to get the ear wart of their hamster removed.

“At one time, the hamster weighed 88 g,” the wife informed me.

“She is too fat now, at 66 g,” I said to the couple when I weighed the hamster today. “You need to reduce weight to around 45-50 g.”

“Did you feed sunflower seeds as the hamster loves them and will put on excessive weight?”

“No sunflower seeds at all as we know she will gain weight on the seeds,” the wife asked whether her beloved chubby pet would be at risk of death during anaesthesia?

“Should be no problem as the removal of the wart takes less than one minute—anaesthesia would be of very short duration.”

The couple discovered that their hamster had ventral dermatitis owing to the roughness of the “pellet” litter. Their vet had cured it of this inflammation of the lower body (with redness and hairless) some time ago. The condition recurred when they put the hamster onto the pelleted litter. Now the hamster is fine, with toilet roll tissues from Japan Home today.

Dr Daniel will operate tomorrow.
